  • James has been in the plastering business since 2009 completing his apprenticeship in Orange, NSW.

His experience has varied from larger commercial builds, to smaller residential ones, and to custom projects over the years.

While James is highly skilled in all aspects of plastering, he has been especially commended for his work with complicated cornices and ornate features.

His values include having a traditional work ethic, giving attention to detail, doing quality work… and, of course, cleaning up afterwards.

What is plastering?

  • How do you know you need a plasterer?

For any new build or renovation, a plasterer is required to ensure the strength, safety, and aesthetic of your internal linings (walls/ceilings).

If you have exposed internal frames (you can see into the walls).

    If your walls/ceilings are:

    • Cracked

    • Discolored

    • Misshaped

    • Dinged up or have holes

If you are unsure, get in touch with us! Find our contact details at the bottom of the page.

  • What does a plasterer do?

Plaster is the building material used for protection, durability, and decoration of walls and ceilings. Plastering is the art of applying it in such a way that you can’t see it once the paint is on.

Without putting plaster on before paint, not only would the interiors look terrible, but the house wouldn’t be as well insulated, and the structural integrity could be jeopardized.

The basic steps to plastering are:

Suitable frame check -> Lining with the correct board for the area (wet, fire, standard, sound) -> Application of first base coat with tape -> Another layer of base coat -> Application of topping compound -> Installation of cornices -> Sanding finish
